Commemoration of the commencement of the Palestinian revolution
Ambassador Abdulhadi participated in the commemoration of the commencement of the Palestinian revolution in 1965, organised by the Fateh faction in NSW, with the support of Palestinian community organisations.
Ambassador Abdulhadi delivered a speech in which he highlighted the lessons learnt from the Palestinian revolution and the significance of the commencement of the Palestinian revolution to protect fundamental Palestinian rights. This revolution helped to shift the Palestinian cause from being simply a humanitarian issue, to also being a political cause. Ambassador Abdulhadi also briefed the audience on political developments in Australia, particularly the growing support for recognition of a Palestinian state among politicians.
The event included other engaging speeches delivered by prominent Palestinian figures, a fashion show of traditional Palestinian dress, and a play representing the Palestinian tragedy and the right to return.
