Power of Attorney

PLEASE NOTE: 

  • Please see "Fees and Payments" to find the fee required for the specific type of Power of Attorney you are requesting. If you are in Aotearoa New Zealand, an additional AU$35 should be added for the cost of return postage.
  • After all necessary documents have been submitted according to procedures, the processing time for document certification is 3 WEEKS. If this time has passed and your transaction has not been completed, please contact the Consular Affairs Department on 02 6286 9193 to follow up.
Procedures and regulations RE Power of Attorney:

Private Power of Attorney

For Private Power of Attorney (POA), the following process applies:

1. Download and complete the relevant template:

Banking / Commercial / Divorce / Insurance and Pension / Litigation / Marriage / Purchasing / Selling / Settlements / Vehicle Sale / Issuing of New ID / No Objection [only for persons originally from Gaza]

2. Send the completed POA template to consular@palgov.org with an email outlining your POA request. Your POA template will then be placed on the official Embassy letterhead and sent back to you so it can be signed and certified.

3. After you receive the email with your POA on Embassy letterhead, you must print, sign and certify the POA to complete it.

4.  Send the completed and certified POA (authentic/original hardcopy) by post to the Consular Section of the General Delegation of Palestine with the following:

  • Completed Consular Service Registration Form
  • A JP-certified copy of the first two pages of the applicant's passport clearly showing the photo, full name and passport number of the applicant
  • AJP-certified copy of another form of photo ID e.g. driving license
  • A copy of the authorized person’s ID
  • A self-addressed Australia/NZ Post Express envelope, for the return of the documents to the applicant.

Documents must be sent using an Australia/NZ Post Express envelope to the following address:

5. Payment can be made via money order/Cheque/bank transfer and must be addressed to General Palestinian Delegation.

To pay by bank transfer, send to the following:

Please include your name in the reference section of the bank transfer.

After payment, please send a record of the transaction details (screenshot/receipt/etc.) to consular@palgov.org

6. Once payment and all necessary documents have been received, the documents will be certified and returned to the applicant. After certified documents have been returned, the applicant is responsible for forwarding the documents directly to the authorized person.


General Power of Attorney:

For General Power of Attorney (POA), the following process applies:

1. Download and fill out the the relevant template:

General Power of Attorney excluding sale and disposal of immovable assets

2. Send the filled out POA template to consular@palgov.org with an email outlining your POA request. Your POA template will then be placed on the official Embassy letterhead and sent back to you so it can be signed and certified.

3. When you receive the email with your POA on Embassy letterhead, you must print, sign and certify the POA to complete it.

4.  Send the completed and certified POA (authentic/original hardcopy) by post to the Consular Section of the General Delegation of Palestine with the following:

Power of Attorney for Full or Partial Waiver of Inheritance and Periodic Powers of Attorney

Instructions and Required Documents for Issuing a Specific/Waiver Power of Attorney (Wakalat Takharrouj) or an Enduring/Periodic Power of Attorney (Wakaleh Dawreyeh):

1. Complete the Consular Service Registration Form to submit with your request.

2. Download and complete the relevant template:

NOTE: 

  • Price and details of property/land must be stated in the text of the Power of Attorney.
  • An Enduring/Periodic Power of Attorney (Wakaleh Dawreyeh) will only be issued to holders of a Palestinian ID. For those who do not hold a Palestinian ID, this POA can be issued after submitting the appropriate purchase permits in the Palestinian territories.

3. Send the filled-out POA template to consular@palgov.org with an email outlining your POA request, and completed Consular Service Registration Form. Your completed POA template will then be placed on the official Embassy letterhead and sent back to you so it can be signed and certified.

4. When you receive the email with your POA on Embassy letterhead, you must print and sign the POA, then have it certified by a Justice of the Peace (JP) to complete it.

5. Send the certified POA (authentic/original hardcopy) via post to the Consular Section of the General Delegation of Palestine, along with the following:

  • A JP-certified copy of the the applicant's valid passport clearly showing the photo, full name and passport number, OR a JP-certified copy of another valid form of photo ID.
  • A copy of the agent’s (الوكيل الدوري) passport or ID.
  • A copy of the buyer’s passport or ID.
  • A copy of the inventory inheritance certificate
  • For Wakaleh Dawreyeh: a copy of most recently issued (no older than three months) property titles and property certificates (also called Tabo) will also be required. 
  • Please include a self-addressed Australia/NZ Post Express envelope for the return of your consular documents after processing.

Termination of Power of Attorney / Legal Notice

For Termination of Power of Attorney (POA), the following process applies:

1. Download and fill out the relevant template:

2. Send the filled out template to consular@palgov.org with an email outlining your request. Your POA template will then be placed on the official Embassy letterhead and sent back to you to be completed.

3. To complete the POA, it must be signed in the presence of two witnesses and certified by a Justice of the Peace (JP).

4.  Send the signed and certified POA (authentic, original hardcopy) by post to the Consular Section of the General Delegation of Palestine with the following:

  • Completed Consular Service Registration Form
  • Copy of the Power of Attorney to be terminated.
  • JP-certified copy of the first two pages of the applicant's passport clearly showing the photo, full name and passport number of the applicant.
  • JP-certified copy of an additional form of photo ID of the applicant.
  • JP-certified copy of the passport/photo ID of the authorised person named in the POA to be terminated.
  • A self-addressed Australia/NZ Post Express envelope, for the return of the documents to the applicant.
